77 verbos irregulares em inglês
São os verbos que apresentam uma formação diferente dos verbos regulares. No caso dos verbos regulares, sempre há um padrão seguido. No caso, a sílaba –ed é acrescentada no final de cada verbo no infinitivo, casos eles estejam nos tempos Simple Past ou Past Participle.
Veja o exemplo:
To play:
· Ravena played soccer yesterday. (Ravena jogou futebol ontem);
· We have played soccer for many years. (Nós jogamos futebol há muitos anos).
Notou que nas duas frases a grafia play + ed foi utilizada? Então, mas não é assim com os verbos irregulares.
To go:
· Ravena went to play soccer yesterday. (Ravena foi jogar futebol ontem);
· We have gone to the same team for many years. (Nós fomos para a mesma equipe por muitos anos).
As grafias são diferentes. Note que, nos casos acima, a sílaba –ed não foi utilizada nenhuma vez. Eles são comumente usados na grafia inglesa, embora não seja a maioria dos verbos.
